# How Teams and Shared Balance Work

> Every CallTuv account works inside a team with one shared balance - here's what that means for solo users, families, and companies.

**TL;DR:** Every account lives in a team with one shared balance - the owner tops up, everyone calls from it, and history is visible team-wide. Solo users get a personal team automatically and never need to think about it.

Everything in CallTuv - balance, call history, contacts you share, caller settings - lives inside a **team**. When you sign up, a team is created for you automatically, so solo users never need to think about it. Teams shine when more people join.

## The shared balance

A team has one balance. When *anyone* on the team makes a call, the cost is deducted from that shared balance, and the balance display updates in real time for everyone. This makes it easy to manage calling credit for a family or a [business making international calls](https://calltuv.com/business-international-calling) from one place:

- The **owner** [tops up](/help/8412937-how-to-top-up-your-balance) and can enable [auto top-up](/help/4573082-auto-top-up-never-run-out-of-credit).
- **Members** call using the shared credit - no individual billing to manage.

## What else is shared

## What stays personal

Your sign-in, your private contacts, and your [verified caller ID](/help/8927354-verify-your-own-number-as-caller-id) belong to your account, not the team.
