Verified Number Showing as Private or Spam

You verified your number, but someone you called saw "Private," "Spam Likely," or even a different number. Here's what's happening.

CallTuv sends your number - carriers decide what displays

Once your number is verified, we pass it as the caller ID on every call and do our best to have it displayed. But between us and the person you're calling sit one or more carriers, and the receiving carrier (or an intermediate carrier on the route) can restrict, strip, or flag a custom caller ID. When that happens the call can show as:

• Private / Withheld - the carrier suppressed the caller ID.
• A different number - the carrier substituted a routing number.
• Spam Likely - the recipient's carrier or phone flagged the call based on its own filters.

This varies by destination country and network and is outside CallTuv's control - which is why a verified caller ID is a best-effort feature, not a guarantee.

What you can do

• Ask the recipient to save your number as a contact - on many phones this overrides generic spam labels for future calls.
• Try a different destination/recipient to confirm your setup is fine - if your number displays correctly elsewhere, the issue is that specific route or carrier.
• If a destination consistently suppresses your number, calls there may simply display differently - switching to Shared Numbers for those calls is a reasonable fallback.
