View as MarkdownCallTuv works over the internet - so where you're calling from doesn't matter. From any country with a steady connection, you can call landlines and mobiles in 200+ countries, straight from the browser or the app.
Calling from anywhere
Traveling, living abroad, on hotel Wi-Fi, using a foreign SIM's data - all fine. You can even call without any SIM card at all, which makes CallTuv a favorite of travelers calling home. Your account, balance, and caller ID work identically wherever you are, because nothing depends on a local carrier. That's also why there's no roaming: a call to the same destination costs the same from everywhere. See Understanding Rates and Per-Minute Billing.
Checking a destination
- Type the number into the dialer - the exact per-minute rate appears before you call, and you don't need any credit just to view rates.
- Or browse every destination on the rates page.
- Calling across many time zones? The free best time to call planner shows when it's a polite hour on both ends.
The one exception: calls to China
Calls to China are currently not supported due to regulations and carrier limitations. Calling from China to other countries works normally.
What you need wherever you are
- A steady internet connection (Wi-Fi or mobile data) - quality depends on it far more than on location; see Fixing Microphone and Audio Issues.
- Credit for at least the 3-minute minimum at your destination's rate.
Then dial exactly as described in How to Make a Call with CallTuv.
Frequently asked questions
- Does it matter which country I'm calling from?
- No. Calls travel over the internet, so rates and quality depend on where you're calling to, not from. Calling Germany costs the same from Tel Aviv, London, or Tokyo.
- Can I call China?
- Unfortunately calls to China aren't supported right now, due to regulations and carrier limitations. Calling from China to other countries works normally.
