A team's power is sharing one balance across several people - family, colleagues, or friends. You top up once, and everyone you've invited can call using that credit. As the owner, you decide who joins, and inviting someone takes under a minute.

Inviting someone, step by step

  1. Open the team screen: on the website, click Team Settings in the menu; in the app, open the Team tab and go to members.
  2. Find the invite box, type the person's email address into it, and press Send invite. Double-check the spelling - the invitation travels to exactly the address you type.
  3. One requirement to know: your team needs some calling credit before invites can be sent. If your balance is empty, top up first, then invite.
  4. The person receives an email invitation with a link. When they open it and sign in (creating their free account if they don't have one), they become a member of your team.

From that moment they can start calling on the shared balance right away - nothing else to set up.

While an invitation hasn't been accepted yet, it appears in your list as pending. Invitations last 72 hours; after that the link stops working and you'll need to send a fresh one. Changed your mind or typed the wrong address? Press revoke next to it and the invitation stops working straight away.

If they already have an account under a different email

Plenty of people are invited at one address but already use CallTuv with another. That's fine - they don't need a second account.

When someone opens the invite link while signed in under a different address, we show them both addresses side by side and let them choose: join with the account they're already using, or sign out and sign back in as the invited address. Nothing happens silently either way.

If they join with a different address, we email you about it, naming both addresses, so you always know exactly who ended up on your team. If it wasn't who you expected, remove them from the members list.

Each invitation is good for one person only. Once someone accepts it, the link is used up - even if the address that accepted wasn't the one you originally typed.

Who can do what

Every team has one owner (the person who created it) and any number of members. Here's the difference at a glance:

What Owner Member
Make calls, manage contacts, view history Yes Yes
Add credit / auto top-up Yes No
Invite or remove members, rename the team Yes No
Send gift credits Yes No

In short: members use the service, the owner manages the money and the people - the complete permission-by-permission breakdown is in Team Roles: What Owners and Members Can Do. If a member runs into a "please top up" message, the app gently points them to you - see Minimum Balance to Start a Call.

Removing a member

  1. Open the members list (same place as inviting).
  2. Find the person and choose remove.

Their access ends immediately - they can no longer call on your balance or see your team's history. Nothing bad happens to them otherwise: their own CallTuv account keeps existing with its own personal team; they're simply no longer part of yours.

Keeping an eye on usage

Every member's calls appear in the shared call history with their name attached, so you always know how the credit is being used. For a summary view of who's calling how much, see Team Activity and Call Stats.

Frequently asked questions

Why can't I send an invite?
Inviting requires calling credit on the team balance - top up first, then invite. Also make sure the email address is typed correctly and hasn't already been invited.
Can a member top up or invite others?
Those actions are reserved for the team owner - members can call, manage contacts, and view history, while billing and membership stay in the owner's hands.
What if they sign in with a different email than the one I invited?
They can still join. The invite page shows both addresses and asks them to confirm, and we email you naming both so you know who joined. They can also sign out and sign back in as the invited address instead.
How long does an invitation last?
72 hours. After that the link stops working and the invitation shows as expired, so send a new one from your team's members list.
