How Teams and Shared Balance Work
Every CallTuv account works inside a team with one shared balance - here's what that means for solo users, families, and companies.

The shared balance
A team has one balance. When anyone on the team makes a call, the cost is deducted from that shared balance, and the balance display updates in real time for everyone. This makes it easy to manage calling credit for a family or a business making international calls from one place:
- The owner tops up and can enable auto top-up.
- Members call using the shared credit - no individual billing to manage.
What else is shared
- Call history - everyone can see the team's calls, with each call attributed to the member who made it. See Your Call History.
- Contacts you choose to share - contacts are private by default but can be shared with the team. See Managing Your Contacts.
- Activity stats - see Team Activity and Call Stats.
What stays personal
Your sign-in, your private contacts, and your verified caller ID belong to your account, not the team.
Roles in a nutshell
- Owner - bills and manages: top-ups, auto top-up, invites and removals, team name, gift credits.
- Member - calls, contacts, history.
The full permission-by-permission breakdown is in Team Roles: What Owners and Members Can Do.
You can belong to several teams and switch between them - see Creating and Switching Teams.
Frequently asked questions
- I use CallTuv alone - do teams affect me?
- Not really. Your account gets its own team automatically, and everything just works. Teams only become visible when you invite someone or join another team.
- Whose balance is used when a member calls?
- The team's shared balance. Every member's calls draw from the same pot, which the owner tops up.
